We have a number of recoveries of metal screws, springs and washers from packaged foods.

Although in most cases there is a good chance of recovering metal items, we can not grantee that a lost metal object will be located in the searched product or area. Therefore we can not give an all clear on searched products as there is a number of factors that may interfere with the recovery.

To ascertain whether recovery is possible and to increase the likelihood of recovery, we need to perform a test run. Where we place an identical replica of the lost item into the same packaging/ container it was lost in and try to find it.

This is required as:
  • The salt content of food can effect how the metal detector reacts
  • The area where the search is performed may have electrical interferences
  • The package may effect the ability of the metal detector
  • The metal object may be too small for the metal detector to locate in the package/ container.
